Aurea Norma Lodge celebrated its Centenary at Freemasons' Hall, Great Queen Street on Wednesday 6th May.

There are only four long-standing Members who were Initiated into the Lodge, namely W Bros Bruce Halcrow, Andrew Mackay, Geoff Crabtree and James Mackay. W Bro Bruce Halcrow was elected as WM for the Centenary year and presided over the Meeting.

The first part of the Meeting partly emulated the first Regular Meeting of the Lodge, when there was a Double Initiation. At this meeting, Kelvin Yip and Sanjiv Rai were Initiated, in the presence of the Metropolitan Grand Inspector, W Bro Barrie Davies PSGD, and the VO, W Bro David Atkins, LGR.

The Lodge was then Called Off and Called On, at which point: the RW Bro Casper Lawson, PJGW, DepMetGM; his Escort W Bro Jonathan Cordell, SLGR, MetDep GrandDC; W Bro Matthew Christmas, PAGDC, Met Grand Sec; W Bro The Rev. Samuel Maginnis, SLGR, Met Dep Grand Chaplain; W Bro Simon Burrows and W Bro Punit Mehta, Met Grand Stewards entered the Lodge.

W Bro Paul Reed, Lodge Secretary then presented a brief history of the Lodge.

The Centenary Warrant was then presented to the WM by RW Bro Lawson.

W Bro Maginnis gave an excellent Oration and the Lodge proceeded to Closure.

The Festive Board was held in the FMH Dining Room and the Lodge Loving Cup, presented to the Lodge in 1926, was brought back into use. A good time was had by all.
